Dependence of ID spectra on electron emittance

This animation follows the change in spectral characteristics of a U14 undulator in a 2.4-GeV storage ring (400 mA) as a function of electron-beam emittance, assuming a well-matched beta function between the electron and photon emittance. The emittance goes from 5.5 nm.rad to 140 pm.rad, similar to the change in emittance between the original SLS and the upgraded machine, SLS 2.0. The program uses 101 data files for the spectra. Please contact me if you need these.

Lastly, one can also generate a similar animation in which the spectra do not accumulate, but simply progress from frame to frame. To do this, one needs to comment out the “hold on” command.
